1989 40ft Flxible Metro B Converted Bus / Tiny Home (Former Trimet bus, tattoo studio, and lived-in tiny home) This is a 1989 Trimet bus with a lot of great history and character. It once roamed the streets of Portland, then went on to become a mobile tattoo studio featured in multiple news articles (you can find one here: https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=aHR0cHM6Ly9uYmMxNi5jb20vbmV3cy9sb2NhbC9vbGQtYnVzLXJlYm9ybi1hcy1tb2JpbGUtdGF0dG9vLXBhcmxvcg==). Back when it was a studio, the entire bus was covered in graffiti-style artwork. Today, the only part that remains is the set of eyes airbrushed on the front, a unique touch we chose to keep. We’ve owned and lived in this bus for the past 5 years. It’s been a great home, but the property it’s parked on is being listed for sale, so we have to let it go. We’d love to see it go to someone who appreciates its story and potential. About the Build: The back of the bus has been fully built out into a cozy bedroom that fits a queen-size bed. The walls and ceiling in the back are newly insulated and freshly painted, and it holds heat and A/C extremely well. There’s under-bed storage that fits several totes, and we’ll include the dressers and closets already installed. There’s also a closet up front that the previous owners used for a washer/dryer hookup while we’ve used it as a coat and storage closet. We added a barn-style privacy door between the living area and front of the bus, which makes it feel more like a true home. The back window tint is peeling in spots, but it’s a cheap and easy fix using kits from Amazon. Mechanical Notes: It ran great when we bought it, and my husband drove it here from 2 hours away. It’s been stationary for a while now, and the main mechanical issues are: The four batteries are no longer holding a charge and need to be replaced (about $300 each). One of the front airbags doesn't seem to be holding air. Other than that, it’s been solid. There are no leaks anywhere, and we’ve never had even a single drip inside. Last summer, we resealed the roof using 10 gallons of premium sealant, and it’s been under a tarp since to keep it protected. Whether you want a unique tiny home, a creative studio, or an eye-catching project with history, this bus has a ton of personality and potential.
