Description
The 1950s Gibson L-48 is an archtop acoustic guitar, known for its warm, woody tone and solid craftsmanship. Featuring a fully hollow maple body with a laminate mahogany top, it delivers a rich, resonant sound ideal for jazz, blues, and fingerstyle playing. The mahogany back is absolutely beautiful, The mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard offers smooth playability, while its simple dot inlays and unbound headstock give it a clean, understated look. A well-built archtop from Gibson's golden era, the L-48 remains a great choice for vintage guitar enthusiasts. Includes an old hardshell case. This one had the original Gibson electric conversion kit at some point, and then it was removed, and the holes were filled. But if you ever wanted to add the original electric conversion system, it’s ready to go! I haven’t been able to find an actual serial number in the body, which is common in some of the older models. It does have the.”L-48” stamp as well as an unusual handwritten L 48 circled inside the body.
