Musical jewelry box vintage Giglio Asla wooden octagonal two tier box

Beautiful Vintage Giglio Asla wooden octagonal two tier musical jewelry box featuring an intricate floral and musical instrument marquetry inlay on burl wood, complete with a key and tassel. The two tier interior of the jewelry box is lined with soft tan velvet. The bottom tier says Giglio on the small closed compartment, and when you lift it up, it reveals the mechanism for the music. The music works perfectly with the MAPSA movement playing a popular tune called "Always". Handcrafted in Sorrento: Artisans in Sorrento, Italy, use traditional wood inlay (marquetry) techniques to create intricate patterns on the lids, such as floral motifs, birds, or geometric scenes. Giglio Asla, a highly renowned, high-end design house based in Sorrento, Italy. They are celebrated globally for their top-tier heritage craftsmanship, particularly their incredibly detailed wood intarsia and marquetry work. Giglio (often branded as Giglio A.S.L.A.) primarily produced their most famous handcrafted, inlaid wood musical jewelry boxes during the mid-to-late 20th century, heavily peaking in the 1970s and 1980s. The outer part of the jewelry box is in excellent condition. The key does not lock the jewelry box because the latch is missing from the top, the box feet are missing so it lays flat and there are minor imperfections inside the lid as shown in the pictures, otherwise the craftsmanship of the wooden art is beautiful.
