This is an extremely rare Electro-Voice (EV) made Fender 12F speaker with original cone in EXCELLENT condition. It is arguably the rarest guitar speaker ever produced. Grab it while it is still available. Fender 12F speakers were special order custom made EVM 12S speakers with a unique aluminum dome and were built in 1980. Doing an extended search will reveal that finding a single one is very difficult. The aluminum dome gives the Fender 12F the most extended upper range of any guitar speaker. It is extremely loud and clean. It was factory spec'd at 123dB, which is louder than any other guitar speaker available. Electro-Voice used a unique aluminum dome similar to JBL domes, but they have their own look, shape, and sound, with more highs. This unique dome cannot be acquired anywhere. This was pulled long ago from an early 1980's Fender Princeton Reverb II and stored. This speaker sounds amazing and tests perfect at all volumes with no coil rub or issues. Both the cone and dome are in excellent condition. Most of these speakers have developed small dents on the aluminum dome from use or accidents. This one looks perfect, with no dents or creases on the aluminum dome and no tears, holes, or damage on the original cone! The dome is perfectly round, as it should be. As expected from any speaker of this vintage, the dome and cone have some dust, being an almost 40 year old speaker...this is normal and does not affect the speaker's function. Some info and history about the Fender 12F: The Fender 12F is inaccurately often referred to as an EV EVM 12L with a JBL type aluminum dome. In actuality, Fender 12F speakers are all EVM 12S speakers with a JBL style dome, NOT an EVM 12L speakers with a JBL style dome. All Fender 12F speakers had the shallower EVM 12S frame with the shallow 70586 EVM12S cone. EVM 12L speakers had a larger frame and came with the deeper 79195 cone. The Fender 12F was a special order speaker in the early 1980's during the Fender/Rivera amp period. JBL's were no longer being made and this is the speaker Electro-Voice offered to Fender to emulate the famous JBL D-120/K-120/E-120 speakers. Very few were built upon request. The result was a speaker with more clean headroom and extended upper range harmonics. This is an amazing speaker like none other.
