SIRCHIE BLUEMAXX System 600 professional forensic alternate-light-source kit. This specialized crime-scene and laboratory equipment uses high-intensity filtered blue light to help locate and examine certain types of evidence that may be difficult to see under ordinary lighting. Common professional applications include searching for treated latent fingerprints, biological evidence, fibers, stains, and other trace evidence. The orange viewing lenses help reveal fluorescence while filtering the blue excitation light. The equipment was purchased directly from an Amador County government auction and is believed to have been used by a county law-enforcement or forensic department.
