I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado K1500 4x4 for sale. Motor was replaced with a used 60k mile motor at 180k miles and trans was rebuilt about 8k miles ago. The truck itself has 278k miles on the body. 4x4 works great but hardly used, was a work truck. AC blows cold as well. It has a wiring issue somewhere thats throwing it into limp mode and blowing the “Eng 1” fuse. I dont have the time to mess with it as I just had a baby and am in the process of moving. I got the truck as is from my brother on a trade and already have a good running truck that I daily drive. It ran great before the “Eng 1” fuse started blowing. It will still start up and drive but not great, would recommend bringing a trailer. Could be a quick fix for someone who knows what they’re doing. I think the wire issue is in the harness near the drivers side exhaust, my brother chopped the exhaust off and about 40 miles later the truck started sputtering and going into limp mode. It has two codes I pulled with my scanner both of which can cause the issue if that wiring circuit (Eng 1) is grounding or broken somewhere in the harness, I’ll post the codes in the pictures. Id be happy to put the scanner back on the truck for anyone who’s interested. Need it gone, bring a trailer and drive the truck up on it. Needs work but has potential to be a great truck again.
