40 gal tank can be used for small critters, reptiles, and aquatics/fish! No cracks or dents in tank. I purchased this a few months ago for my tortoise and it was perfect for him at the time but he's been growing fast and he needs some bigger real-estate! The mesh screen on top had previous wear and tear from owner before me and the metal was rusted from the heat lamps which is common lay your lamps directly on the screen. The screen still works fine but I put duct tape on the back side just to stabilize it cause it was starting to bend. So if you aren't hung up on the looks of the screen then everything else works fine! I would recommend hanging you lamps instead of laying them on the screen if you have multiple just because of the weight. Also if you are dead set on a new screen they sell them online and they aren't that expensive just make sure you get the right dimensions.
