Mechanic’s special: 2005 Ford Escape XLT FWD V6 TRANSMISSION IS BAD. It has been sitting since late February, early March. The engine is in good condition. Hazard button works, but will not stay on. The rear driver door sometimes actives the door ajar alert, even when it’s closed. O2 sensor needs replacing. I bought the battery mid February, and have been keeping it on a battery charger since the vehicle broke down. I have been trying to sell it separately on here and Letgo, but if you buy the car before it sells, it’s yours to keep. The AC and everything else works. The cv axles, and one of the wheel knuckles has been replaced, along with the alternator. The other knuckle is sitting in the rear, waiting to be used. I repaired the rubber fuel lines, and it has new spark plugs. The motherboard has been replaced for the system’s computer. All the tires still have tread on them. New drive belt. I don’t want to junk this vehicle as it has a lot of life left, but I will junk it if enough time has gone by. If you have the money/time to put a new transmission into this car, it would be well worth it, whether you choose to flip it, or keep it. You must tow it yourself if you buy it.
