Description
Similar worm teas are available at Home Depot or Amazon with Vermisterra the leading brand and can cost up to $30/quart. What the big box brands don't mention is that all of the beneficial microbes and microorganisms begin to die off within the first 48 to 72 hours once the tea is cut off from a source of oxygen. For this reason, the tea is not bottled until you are en route for pick-up in order to maintain maximum freshness. It can come filtered or unfiltered in which case you can use the leftover castings in soil beds for additional benefits and water retention. All worm castings used in the worm tea are 100% organic and sourced from my own worm farm that has been maintained and fed using my home's kitchen scraps (thereby avoiding landfills) for almost 8 years now. For all of you tomato, pepper, and "other" plant growers, I have used many of the name brands out there like Advanced Nutrients, Miracle-Grow, Roots Organic, and Fox Farm among others in soil grows. All yielded quality results, but NOTHING came close to the results since using worm castings and worm compost tea. The most dramatic differences were seen with much more robust vegetative phase growth, anti-pest properties during flowering phase growth, and ESPECIALLY with taste. An added bonus is that it acts as a natural pest repellant within and outside of the plant. Both at the root level, within the stem, and on the fruit/flower when applied as a foliar spray. Studies also indicate that worm castings and the leftover vermicompost from making the worm tea can significantly aid soil with water retention. Prices: $8.99 for 1 gallon $49.99 for 7 gallons Pick-up in Milton. 1st and 2nd photos from a past batch. In the second photo, the "foam" that you see is actually an especially high concentration of good microbes and microorganisms that benefit your soil. Final 2 photos are Red Wiggler worms doing their thing. Believe me, as someone who has enjoyed gardening and plants for most of my life, this is the best stuff you can give your plants...hands down. Happy Growing! ***NOT FOR HUMAN OR ANIMAL CONSUMPTION***ji
