Antique German Disc Music Box Walnut Marquetry Cabinet Large Perforated Metal Disc

Antique late 19th-century European/German disc-playing music box housed in an exceptionally attractive walnut cabinet. The cabinet features decorative floral marquetry/intarsia to the lid, raised molded trim and a period decorative classical scene mounted inside the lid. The original mechanical music-box movement is fitted with a large perforated metal music disc and hand crank. The disc contains German-language musical markings. The substantial size, ornate cabinet and original mechanical components make this an impressive example of Victorian-era mechanical music. Appears to date to approximately 1880–1900. Sold as a collectible antique mechanical musical instrument. The movement should be professionally serviced before being considered fully operational.
