Description

Vintage 1966 Gibson EB-0 Bass Cherry Up for sale, here's an incredible Player's grade Original 1966 Gibson EB-0 short scale Bass in its original Cherry finish with a really cool Mojo and patina. 7.2 Lbs, 30.5" scale with low serial # 320XXX, which indicates it could be even late '65 but because of the bridge we can consider ir 1966. When it comes to "Player's" instruments, it means you're gettin a true vintage guitar that has been really well played for years from diverse stages to smoking bars, and might've been slightly modded but still keeping the core of the sound and usually price accordingly lower and most of the cases sounds so much better, compared to another similar that is a "Closet queen". Definitely not for the collector, however can be incredible for someone looking to get a real deal vintage one at a very competitive price. The entire guitar still preserves its original finish all over it. A stunning aged Cherry with tons of checking, play wear, scratches, paint peeling off and patina (which is normal on an instrument like this. What remains original are: Complete Mahogany and neck (Headstock and neck joint are impecable w/o any cracks, which are th most critical parts), Mudbucker pickup, bridge, tuners, pickguard with thumb rest. Incredible neck with its original rosewood fingerboard, original frets (just polished), Gibson logo and crown still in great shape as well. The bass is mainly original with the exception of new Wiring harness with period correct (450 series CTS 500K pots, NOS Russian K40Y-9 PIO Paper in Oil .022uF capacitor and Switchcraft USA input jack), newer period correct knobs and a brand new Road Runner Black Tolex hard case. It's in Very Good condition considering its age, the only thing to mention is at some point there was a couple of crack lines arising at the bottom of the body, where the controls cavity, jack and pots are). It's been professionally glued and fixed by a renown Pro Guitar tech in LA and it's 100% functional and stable. This does not compromise the integrity of the bass at all and unless you don't throw it from your balcony you should not be worry like what happens with a cracked headstock or neck joint repair. This is a great opportunity to get a real vintage '66 Mustang that plays great with tons of mojo at an affordable price tag.
