Vintage Victor FB-5 Back Loaded Folded Horn Speakers by JVC OBO

I'm selling this fantastic old pair of Victor FB-5 speakers. They're a pretty unusual design, and extremely rare in this country. To the best of my knowledge, they were only widely sold in Japan. These are some quite nicely made Back Loaded Horn design cabinets. The 18cm Mid-range driver is acoustically linked, via a folded horn, to the large ports on the front of the speakers. This allows these speakers to have some very nice bass response, while using overall small drivers. However, though the drivers are small (6cm Paper Tweeter, and an 18cm Mid-range driver) the speakers themselves are quite large. Each unit is about 17 3/4" Wide, 16 3/4" Deep, and 33 3/4" tall! And, according to my bathroom scale, they weigh about 80 pounds a piece. So, you've got some very heavily built cabinetry going on here. As far as the condition, they work very nicely; all four drivers are fully functional, though a 6cm paper tweeter is NEVER going to be as brilliant as a newer metal dome type. There is some chipping and peeling of the vinyl covering in a few places, and both grills are decently sun bleached.
