Description

PRICE DROP TO $400! This is an absolutely stunning Rare and Vintage 1960s Era EKO Rio Bravo Deluxe 12 String Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar! Made in Italy, this blast from the past comes from the golden era of Eko guitars, and the Rio Bravo model was essentially Eko's higher end version of the infamous Ranger acoustic, which were one of the most popular acoustic guitars for it's day. This Rio Bravo is gorgeous, and considering it's age (50+ years), is in phenomenal shape. As you'd expect with an Eko acoustic, it has a really deep, rich sound and tone to it. The strings could probably stand to be changed, and a set up is always recommended. It plays pretty well as it sits, but the action is a little on the high side. Again, it is such a cool vintage 12 string, and the pictures really don't quite do it justice. A lot of vintage set neck acoustics have really bulky baseball bat like necks with chunky fretboards, but this neck is a thing of beauty. It's a 3 piece and is extremely well shaped, and actually feels more comparable to a Fender Strat / electric guitar neck. Also, the binding on the neck and the fretwork is superb. No sharp ends, no sticking, just a really smooth play up and down the fretboard. The headstock also has the more unique vertical EKO logo with the floral pattern. These are not as prevalent, although I've seen a few around. The tuners are solid. A few are a bit stiff, but could probably just use a good spritz of WD40. The other minor thing on the tuners, the low E1 & E2 tuning heads are not original. They were still slotted into the original machines, but the heads are just different. They are pretty well matched though, and you probably didn't notice until I told you here, but they work great. The bridge and tail piece are also original and in great shape. No issues or cracks or missing screws, and I personally love the tail piece rather than using bridge pins. Asking $400 on this Italian relic!
