For sale is an gorgeous 1983 U.S. Mint Prestige Proof Set in the original Mint packaging. The Mint released this set as part of the Prestige set series that ran from 1983 to 1997. With this being the very first Prestige Set it always makes it desirable. Prestige Sets were basically regular proof sets with the inclusion of any Commemorative coins that were released that year set in fancy packaging. In this 1983 set it includes all the regular proof coins from 1983, and then also includes the 1984 L.A. Summer Olympics Discus Thrower Commemorative 90% Silver Dollar -- 6 proof coins in all! This set comes housed in the original Mint packaging, which is a very nice leather case made to look like a book, the outer box, and certificate of authenticity. The coins in this set are in great shape! They all have that gorgeous mirror image and frosty deep cameo reliefs you expect from high quality proof coins. Other than some ghost toning, which is very common on proof coins from this era, they have no major blemishes.
