Description
For sale is a very nice pair of the 1928-F $2 & $5 Red Seal U.S. Notes. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. You'll notice the seal is located on the left side of the notes whereas Notes printed after 1928 were re-located to the right side. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. As you can see from the pics the notes are in really good shape. The $5 Note would both be considered average circulated, but the $2 Note is a nice higher grade with lots of crispness to it. The whites, reds, and greens on it are nice and bold. Both notes do have minor folds to it, but no major rips or stains. This is a really nice vintage Note pair great for any currency collection at a low price. Please email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
