Description
Antique Stewart Louisville Pottery Churn, brown, salt glazed, measures 14 1/2” tall, 8” across, 30” around circumference, has one handle, stamped “4” for Four Gallon, used to make pickles, butter back in the day. Has wood dasher and the lid that came with it. Lid is actually smaller than opening??? If you’re handy with woodwork you could adjust to make it fit/work. See pictures. History states that the pottery company began in 1888 in Louisville, Mississippi. Crocks and churns were the Tupperware of that time. Churn came from an estate in that city. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!
