Description

A 19th century French Louis XIV style Vernis Martin vitrine curio cabinet case with hand painted panels, cast bronze mounts and curved glass. Raised on cabriole legs with foliate cast brass trim throughout. Giltwood construction with single door with original key, opening to original interior with original silvered mirrored back exhibiting tarnish commiserate with age. Two shaped glass shelves, original velvet felted fabric covered bottom shelf, original jacquard fabric back covering wood. Hand-painted courting scenes, landscape, and floral details in warm tones. Insignificant paint loss, structurally sound and tight. Circa 1880 or earlier. Approximate dimensions: 27"W x 14.5"D x 56"H
