Vintage Slant-Front Secretary Desk – French Provincial, With Key

Vintage mid-century French Provincial slant-front (drop-front) secretary desk. This desk features the original hardware, applied carvings on the front corners, and dovetailed drawer construction. Two serpentine (curved) drawers provide storage, and the interior cubbies are great for mail, stationery, or office supplies. The slant front drops down to make a writing surface, perfect as a small laptop desk, writing desk, vanity, or entryway piece. Solid wood construction with a veneered slant-front panel. The veneer on the drop-front face has some lifting along the edges from age and use (see close-up photos). Original key is included. Condition: Good vintage condition overall. Original finish has been gently cleaned and conditioned to bring back the color and sheen. Structurally solid; drawers and drop front open and close properly. Normal cosmetic wear, small scratches and dings from age and use, plus the veneer lifting noted above. Interior is clean.
