Until now, a smaller saltwater system designed for a spa or hot tub was not an option. The standard spa chlorine generators offered by ControlOMatic are very easy to install and do not require the spa to even be on or interfere with the current plumbing or electronics. Simply add salt, place in the water, turn it on, and let it run. ChlorMaker is a semi-automated saltwater chlorine generator that produces chlorine from a small amount of ordinary salt (sodium chloride) dissolved in water. The small addition of salt provides a softening effect on your spa water, adding gentleness on the skin. Using it's built-in timer, the ChlorMaker adds small amounts of chlorine to the water every few hours so that you don't have to! By adding less chlorine more often, the ChlorMaker provides more consistent water, without the spikes and drops of overchlorination and underchlorination. ChlorMaker features two components: an easy-to-use control box that can be mounted to your spa's skirt and a drape-over electrode. Since it drapes straight into the main body of water, you don't need to modify your spa or hot tub. Add 1.5 pounds of salt per 100 gallons of water, and then place the electrode in the tub. From there, just plug the power supply into a wall outlet, and your ChlorMaker is ready to generate chlorine! Reduced Maintenance: You don’t have to remember to add chlorine every day. Set it up once and the generator takes care of it from there. Your time and efforts will be saved, allowing you to use them effectively in other ways that are in your best interests. Make sure to keep an eye on the pH, as salt water chlorinators tend to raise the pH. You can use a mild acid or even white vinegar to lower the pH, or use dry acid (pH- or pH down).
