This piece however stands alone for it time. The Massier family, a dynasty of potters dating back to before the French Revolution, played a key role in the revival of pottery in Vallauris. Clément Massier is regarded as the founder in the early twentieth century of the modern ceramics industry in Vallauris. With a natural creativity, Clément Massier (1844-1917) first worked with his father Jacques (1801-1871) in 1856. The Massier family have been ceramists, potters and sculpturs in clay and porcelain since 1707. After a break of three generations, in 2007 Cédric started as a ceramique artist returning the name of Massier to the world of ceramics and continues their family tradition by being a leader in innovations ceramic.
