Description

This sale features an Uncirculated $2.00 Federal Reserve Note. This note is denoted as Series 1976 (the Bicentennial Year) and was printed for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, VA (Letter "E"). The reverse shows the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The note shown in the pictures - with same serial number is the exact one you will receive. This crisp, smooth bill has 4 sharp corners, good color, a bright green seal, and no holes, tears, creases, folds, rough edges, or missing pieces.  This bill is clearly postmarked on the First Day of Issue - April 13, 1976 - from the Washington DC, Post Office over a 13-cent USA stamp.  The bill also has a courtesy autographs from Francine I. Neff, the 1976 Treasurer of the United States and also William E. Simon, the 1976 Secretary of the treasury. The First Day Issue stamp/postmark and the courtesy autographs are certainly a rare - and perhaps unique - combination.  The note is protected in a plastic sleeve.
