Mattress is a twin 7" gel memory foam. Zero stains or tears. We installed a foam head bump on the bottom part which has saved us lots of trips to the ER when our daughter fails to use her situational awareness spidey sense. 😂 Feel free to ask any questions. It's an awesome bed, and can hold up to 400lbs. We can offer delivery and re-assembly for an additional $50 within Menifee. Cat free/smoke free home. Loft bed with mattress (bedding not included)- $350
