Description

Original 1960’s WMCA GOOD GUYS SWEATSHIRT. Vintage 1960’s WMCA Good Guy Sweatshirt in a collector frame. This is not a reproduction. Although reproductions are now being sold, this is an original. Original sweatshirts are rare collector items. You could not buy this authentic sweatshirt, they could only be won when you would call into the radio station after they announced your name over the air, or when the station called listeners and they answered their phone “WMCA Good Guys!”. This awesome sweatshirt has been stored in the collector frame for years. There are a few stains and a tiny hole in back. It is in very good condition for it’s age. A little history about the sweatshirt and the radio station from Wikipedia: The 1960’s WMCA Good Guys smiley face sweatshirt is famous for its well known picture of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones wearing it. The yellow and black specific smiley face design was first used by WMCA for its "Good Guys" campaign. They were so popular, they became synonymous with the New York City 1960’s culture. There were two top-40 radio stations in New York through most of the 1960’s, WMCA being one of them. The WMCA DJs included, Dan Daniel, Joe O'Brien, B. Mitchel Reed, Ed Baer, Jack Spector, Gary Stevens, Dean Anthony, Lee Gray, Harry Harrison, Murray "The K" Kaufman, Frankie Crocker, Alex Bennett, and Johnny Michaels. Cash only. Pickup only.
