Castle Motors Brookfield – Unethical Sales Practices & Engine Failure Within 48 Hours

I am sharing my experience to warn potential car buyers about Castle Motors, located at 900 Ogden Avenue in Brookfield, Illinois, owned by Paul Castle. On March 14, 2025, I purchased a Mini Cooper from this dealership. Less than 48 hours after driving off the lot, the vehicle began emitting heavy smoke from the exhaust—a serious red flag. I have timestamped videos and photos documenting this.

Further issues quickly followed:
•	Severe oil consumption: Even after two oil changes, the engine continued burning oil at an abnormal rate, often being 2 quarts low within days—with no visible leaks.
•	Complete engine failure: I’ve been informed that the only solution is a full engine replacement at an estimated cost of $7,000.
•	Unauthorized repair charges: I was charged for a heat shield replacement that was never performed.

My extended warranty provider (Endurance) evaluated the vehicle and determined Castle Motors’ explanation was not mechanically plausible. Their assessment supports that I was sold a vehicle in defective condition, with no proper disclosure or transparency.

Since this happened, I’ve learned of multiple similar complaints from other Castle Motors customers. This appears to be a pattern of deceptive car sales, not an isolated event. I have also been unable to obtain my vehicle title within the legal timeframe, despite repeated follow-up.

If you’re searching for honest car dealers in Brookfield, reliable used car lots near Chicago, or Mini Cooper sales in Illinois, I strongly advise avoiding Castle Motors. There are serious questions about their business ethics, vehicle inspection process, and customer service integrity.

Consumers deserve transparency, especially when making a major purchase like a used vehicle. I hope the Village of Brookfield takes a close look at how this dealership is operating.
