I bought a new power supply, upgraded the included HDD to an SSD, added more RAM, and added a superfast NVMe SSD boot drive in 2020. I bought a third-party replacement battery which I am including, but I swapped it back for the original because it would not display the correct battery percentage. I usually keep it plugged in anyway but if you really want that extra battery life (more than a couple of hours) and don’t mind a wonky percentage display, you can swap them back with a phillips screwdriver and a little patience. I’m also throwing in a Razer Deathadder mouse and Goliathus portable mousepad. The GTX 970M is roughly equivalent to a 1050ti. It’s not the newest but it’ll still keep up with any e-sports title you throw at it in 1080p and rock AAA single-player titles at medium-ish settings. It averages 80+ FPS on the GTAV benchmark at High settings and scores 6557 on 3DMark Fire Strike.
