Bought 2.5 years ago from previous owner, who had used it as a mining GPU for approximately 6 months. I have been experiencing black screen crashes, so I took apart the GPU to replace the thermal paste and check on the thermal pads. Then I realized the previous owner used thermal paste instead of pads in some areas to cut costs on maintenance. There are missing thermal pads. I have a link to the required pads, as well as where they go, I just don’t want to do the work myself. Fresh thermal paste was applied in the areas where pads were missing, and other areas where they were missing were left dry. Since I used the card for a few years without noticing this, it’s likely the card has much higher than normal wear and tear. I can’t say it’s for parts because it technically still works, you’d just have to do maintenance that unfortunately I don’t know how to.
