Reserved for spies, clandestine poets, and parents with sleeping children, this is a beautiful specimen of one of history's quintessential writing machines. This model was used by Hemingway and others of his ilk and era. This machine has certainly been used, but cared for and loved as well. the insides are quite clean. The platen is hard but in good condition, and still grips the paper well. The rollers are excellent. The carriage knobs and hardware are in excellent condition. The case is in above average, though not perfect, condition. The latches and hinges are worn but work. Handle is solid. All material covering the plywood intact, with some wear to the edges. It does the job.
