1990 model runs has great compression... lower end shifts in and out of gear fine & is 20" standard Long shaft...the engine will need some attention and the replacing power trim motor...this is a very powerful V4 has a lot of thrust on the water and are very good reliable engines but yes they like gas but they definitely pull skiers with no problem...If you're looking for a good powerhead for your similar model this is good power head swap or you could part it out
