Vintage Craftsman 1/2 inch spindle Wood Shaper model 101.23810; sturdy cast iron; manufactured in 1948, 1949, or 1950. Table is 21x15 inches; also functions as a router table and spindle sander. Completely rebuilt with new premium SKF bearings (high speed, maintenance free); great condition, ready to use immediately. Newer 3/4hp motor, 3450rpm, 9.5a @ 115v; runs great. Included pulleys enables spindle to run at approximately 8270rpm, 7230rpm, 5170rpm, and 4130rpm. (Highest speed for shaping; lowest for sanding.) Mounted on rolling base; comes with 90 degree v-groove shaper bit . Additional info from Craftsman’s 1950 Power Tools catalogue: • Built for high speed light duty production work. Cuts smoothly and rapidly at all possible angles to the grain of the wood. • Extra-large heavy-duty table. 21x15 inches. Bevel gears and screw mechanism move table up and down.
