Description
DATED FROM LATE 1700s-EARLY 1800s!! FANTASTIC PRIMITIVE SCOTTISH YARN SPINNER!! FIRST EARLY SPINNING WHEEL I’VE COME ACROSS THAT HAS A WORKING TREDLE!! This is a really cool find! Made in Scotland. I had an antique dealer date it around late 1700s-early 1800’s. This is a primitive yarn spinner. The body/spine of this spinner is held together with the original small wooden nails/steaks. This is the first earlier, primitive yarn, spinner that I have ever seen with a working tredle. The only new piece of hardware that’s been added are a few small screws to the small wooden pole that connects the treadle to the wheel handle. Other than that, everything on this is original. There are a few smaller original pieces missing from this. So even though all of the major pieces are still there, this piece is technically not fully functional. I am asking $175 for this fantastic piece of history brought over from Scotland.
