Description

This posting is for a 1996 Fender Squier Stratocaster with hard case. This setup was my first foray into the world of electric guitars, and is in excellent (virtually new) condition. The Strat is a Fender Squier model with 50th anniversary sticker on the back of the head (see picture). It was manufactured by Cor Tek Copration (Cort Guitars) in South Korea in 1996. The Serial Number can be looked up on several sites online. The guitar is a beautiful burgundy color (almost black) that is radiant under stage lighting. I've also seen it listed as "Midnight Wine Burst" It's got a Humbucker, Single-Coil, Single-Coil (HSS) pickup configuration, and sounds fantastic no matter how you like to play it. The Maple Fretboard slides easily in the hands, and fits comfortably in smaller hands. (I believe it's a standard/medium "C" shaped neck). Close it out with a whammy bar, and this thing ROCKS! The hard case is better for transport and protects the instrument better than a standard gig bag. It has a little "road wear", but that's to be expected. I got the guitar in Sicily, Italy, as a "Navy Brat" in my teens, so it's seen a few sights. I'll even throw in a strap, and a few picks for good measure. Overall, this is a decent package for someone who is thinking about learning to play. It is definitely better than any "starter" package that you will find in a store. A similar package would set you back about 400-500 bucks at Guitar Center.
