It was painted in white dove chalk paint chippy distressed sealed in wax for added lust and protection. The Idea and inspiration for this piece came from the wonderment and action of how things left in the elements age gracefully and pull you into thoughts of how it got that way and how beautiful imperfections are and the way they gravitate to your imagination. For Ellie the thought was to bring out some of the elements you see when visiting an abandoned place or when a piece is exposed to the element. There is something so beautiful about it. It captures your heart and soul from its innocense. After painting her she was chippy distressed to emulate a piece exposed to such elements and years of wear. Many tools were done to achieve this such as hand sanding, wet sanding, using a painters scraper utility tool, a regular scraper and orbital sander to give the piece as much authenticity as possible to make it feel it had a journey and story to tell. Her imperfections are enchanting making It the strength of the piece. Absolutely love the way she came out and how she captures and portrays time past in a visual and physical manner. Next Ellie has a seat top that opens for ample storage beneath her. The inside was painted white and on the bottom an oasis of old vintage decorative paper was cut and sealed in polycrylic giving her a fabulous POP of color to show her artsy side. The paper was light sanded to give her aged feeling to it. Ellie can be used anywhere for anything. Her presence would look great with any setting regardless If Its farmhouse, cottage, French chic, shabby chic, modern and beachy. Whether you use her as a bench, coffee table and console table her presence will be met with admiration.
