Baritone ukuleles are typically tuned the same as guitars (6 string) and bass guitars (4 and 5 string). Please see my other offers for electric only mini bass ukuleles. These are considered baritone ukuleles or bass ukuleles. They are often called a ubass but that name is a Kala trademark and I do not have any Kala. Similarly, Bari-bass is just the Luna trademarked name for this instrument. All of my uke basses have Aquila Thundergut strings, which are superior to rubber and silicone strings. Most of the better ukulele bass brands are now using these strings Brand names are mostly R. Empire and Smiger. These are the factory’s own brand names. Most other brands are just putting their name on instruments made in this same factory. In fact, I am pretty sure that every brand that uses these Thundergut strings is made in this same factory as well, including Kala and Luna. These mini basses make a great travel guitar, and many are sold to pro musicians for that very purpose. They are also great for musicians learning to play bass because the strings don’t cut up your fingers, most of the better ones are fretless (with fret markings only) so they don’t cut up your fingers there either, and the smaller size means that one can play for hours and still make those otherwise long stretches without the hand cramping. Even the inexpensive ones sound surprisingly good. I personally have performed live with one of these and it sounded great. Most of what I have in stock are the latest 2020 versions (there have been considerable improvements over each of the last three years). The rest were purchased in 2019. Located in Vista, CA.
