$6,000 in Repairs After 100 Miles!

I purchased a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland from Lexus of Tampa Bay thinking I was getting a quality, road-ready preowned  vehicle. Instead, within just one month of ownership — and after driving it less than 100 miles beyond my trip home from Tampa to Orlando — I was hit with the devastating news that it needed over $6,000 in repairs.
This purchase was a 16th birthday surprise for my son who had just recently obtained his drivers license. But unfortunately we were the ones who were surprised when a few weeks after the purchase the vehicle was pouring smoke out of the exhaust and was not drivable .
This is completely unacceptable. A dealership that prides itself on luxury and quality should never sell a vehicle in this kind of condition without full disclosure. I trusted them to sell me a safe, reliable car, and they failed miserably. Prior to sale my vehicle had supposedly under gone a hundred point inspection in order to find any issues.The lack of transparency and apparent disregard for customer satisfaction is deeply disappointing. Several messages were left with their used car sales department and I was told I would be receiving a call back from a manager. No one has contacted me to date.
I would never recommend Lexus of Tampa to anyone looking for a used car — especially if you expect honesty and professionalism.

For complete transparency the vehicle was covered under a 90 day warranty that Greenway Jeep in Orlando was able to repair for an out of pocket repair cost of $250.00 not including the time and stress associated with the whole scenario.
