Description

Specifically, I am selling: 1). Elgin Coal and Ice Co. vintage cast iron ice tongs. According to AI, the “Elgin” branding is highly sought by collectors. Fully functional open-n-close. Rivets are strong and intact. Expands and contracts perfectly. 2). Vintage W. C. Co. Village Blacksmith Milwaukee hand sickle/scythe. Riveted wood handle on metal/cast iron blade. Surprisingly the blade is still very sharp! 3). Unbranded hand sheep shears spring loaded design to open and close easily and automatically. “Single bow” or “heart spring” shear style. Carbon steel machine ground blades. Also, still pretty sharp! Professionally restored with lacquer. Pictures #8-10 in my listing demonstrate the value of these pieces. Sellers are asking over $25 each plus you have to pay shipping, tax, and hope it doesn’t get damaged on the way. I really don’t want to split these up but rather sell as a set. I am offering this at a STEAL. You won’t find an item in this great of a restored condition as these. I Googled Image search the internet and could only find a few with the same makers mark as these. My Dad was an antique enthusiast who often restored pieces which may/may not lower their value. He understood patina was important but he would rather beautify his pieces. He had these, among many others I will be listing in the upcoming months, as display pieces in his mobile in Castle Rock Lake, WI. Great historical Americana and American made. I do the exchanges at Traverso’s Restaurant parking lot, 2523 Plainfield-Naperville Rd., in Naperville for CASH ONLY. I may not answer your request immediately as I am not allowed to be online at work. To be fair to the buyers, I will sell on a “first ask, first serve” basis. Thank you so much for looking!
