Description
French Republic Liberty Equality Fraternity Election to the District Council July 28, 1907 To the Voters of the Commune of Measnes My Dear Friends, From the bottom of my heart, to you who gave me such a striking proof of your affection on Sunday, I come to say: Thank you The sympathy you have shown my once again, by giving me a greater number of votes than the last municipal elections, has moved me more than I can express. Unfortunately, success has not met our efforts everywhere. I am defeated, but I leave the struggle with my head held high, aware of having fought a fair battle whose outcome I could only to easily forsee, but which I was expected to fight. I have lost it; but, in all conscience, I feel no bitterness In exchange for failure, I found devotion and friendships that deeply touched me. It is the most beautiful and rarest result one can hope for; it is the one I obtained, and I much prefer it to the other. I saw that you were loyal and devoted to me. I will not forget it! And once again I say to you, Thank you Francois Roger, Lawyer Municipal Counscilor of Meanes, Former Mayor *pick up in James Island near folly beach. Can ship via usps with tracking.
