Fender "Mustang Special", Made in Japan (), Lake Placid Blue, NOS / Mint!

For your consideration is a Fender Mustang Special in stunning Lake Placid Blue, Made in Japan (MIJ), part of the 'Pawn Shop Series'. Comes with the Fender gig bag. In my opinion, this is one of the nicest Mustang models that Fender produced. The body is slightly larger than the traditional Mustang, making it very well-balanced on the lap or on a strap. I also think it's more visually-balanced as well. The 3-position slider switch for each pickup, combined with the 3-way pickup selector, offer one of the widest range of tonal configurations possible. This particular model was Made in Japan, which was definitely a step up in terms of attention to detail vs. the MIM variant (I've had both versions). The neck pocket on this one is tight, the guitar is very resonant, fret-ends are smooth, and it plays and sounds amazing. Cosmetically, the guitar is in NOS / near-mint condition. No dings or buckle rash, no fret wear, no tarnishing in the hardware. The only thing worth mentioning is some faint surface scratches on the pickguard. This will be a great piece for a collector or player! Local cash sale only. I'm parting with this one as I play mainly older Strats and acoustics these days.
