I purchased this amplifier in June of 2000 at Guitar Center in Tukwila, WA. This has been my sidekick for 25 years, it’s met every guitar I’ve ever brought home. The amp has been exceptionally well cared for and is ready to be your featured player. Everything works as designed and it’s full of that classic Marshall sound, but it’s time for it to be a workhorse on someone else’s farm. Eighty Watts of solid-state in a solidly-built package. The MG80RCD, introduced in 2000, was Marshall’s next evolution of the Valvestate 8080. The G80RCD combo amp features dual channels -- Normal & Boost, each with 2 selectable modes. The Normal channel has a Clean/Crunch mode switch, plus controls for Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble. The Boost Channel has an OD1/OD2 mode switch together with controls for Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Contour. The Master section of the combo houses a Parallel FX Loop with Level selector [-10dB/+4 dB] and Mix control plus controls for Reverb and Master Volume. In addition to having its own custom voiced 12” speaker, this Made in Korea combo can also drive an external cabinet via the second speaker jack.
