Absolutely beautiful 60th Anniversary Model 1959 LP Standard Reissue for sale. Sunrise Teaburst VOS finish with a deep, 3D flame top with tons of movement and a “vintage” character, nice grain throughout, dark rosewood fretboard, and the back has that nice deeep dark cherry hue that a lot of the newer R9’s have! The body is nice & resonant, and feels “alive” acoustically to me like a good R9 should. The unpotted Alnico 3 Custombuckers sound incredible - I can’t say that I’ve ever been lucky enough to compare these to real PAF’s, but I do know that they sound absolutely fantastic through my Dr. Z Carmen Ghia. The kind of sound that just inspires me to play. I know tone is subjective (obviously), but this is one of the best R9’s that I have personally played before. The Sunrise Teaburst finish is similar to the classic Iced Tea, but has slightly more red in the burst - in sunlight outdoors it is especially rich & vibrant! It’s also one of those burst variants they don’t make as often as the more common finishes so that’s cool. Cosmetically - overall it is in excellent condition, there are a couple really small scratches that could probably be polished out (but I never tried because I like the look of the VOS finish), and there are some very faint marks on the back from the previous owner’s shirt button rubbing against the back. There is also what appears to be a minor finish blemish on the corner of the headstock, but it definitely doesn’t look like the headstock was dinged - I believe it came from the factory with that. (See pictures for details) It has always been well taken-care of and kept in its case when not being played. It’s not 100% mint, but the few blemishes are only visible with direct, focused light on them (they were very hard to capture for photos) so I would say it’s at least 95% same condition as when new… This guitar is 100% original to my knowledge with only 1 exception - the pickup selector switch got damaged being shipped to me, and I had it professionally replaced with the same Switchcraft part that Gibson uses in R9’s. The same luthier also did a thorough inspection and setup, and luckily there was no other issues or signs of other shipping damage (just the pickup selector switch) I am the 2nd owner, but this guitar originally came from Dave’s Guitars (a well-respected Custom Shop LP dealer in Wisconsin). Per Dave’s measurements, this guitar weighs right around 8.5 lbs but very slightly under. The neck measures 0.88” at the 1st fret & 0.99” at the 12th fret. Comes with the original Lifton-style case (this one came with the slightly improved version with the strap button cutout and pink headstock pillow) and all case candy pictured. All photos taken with my iPhone, I did not do any additional processing. Small room with very large window letting in a ton of natural light. Obviously photos can vary a bit depending on your screen - to me the photos appear to represent the true colors/hues pretty accurately… Please reach out with any questions or if you would like any additional photos, etc.
