I think the original finish is just awesome I love this old door, the finish flaws can be touched up/restored very well with Restor(worth the price!), there are online vids for ideas of best affectively using this amazing product. The inside of the door has 8-10 tiny holes that needs puttying, one of the holes is twice as big as the others. The doorknob finish is in excellent condition on the inside, it has some wear on the top of the outside.
