Antique HairWork Beaded Mourning Keepsake Art w/ Original Box Germany. Very intricate purple corded art with glass beads and wisps of blonde hair woven together onto a green silk pillow card. Inside lid of box label states ernst hergert uhrmacher uhren, gold, silberu, optische waren aue wettinerstrasse 17. Translated as Ernst Hergert, watchmaker, watches, gold, silver, optical goods, Aue Wettinerstrasse 17 which I believe is Wettinerstraße 17, 08280 Aue-Bad Schlema, Germany. Many Hairwork pieces are made into jewelry and is possible add a pin back to wear this piece of art. In excellent condition. Outside lid of box has a Victorian Christmas scene with a candled tree, children and a German version of Santa Claus. Box size is 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 3/4". Small stain on the green silk pillow pad.
