There is a faint whitish discoloration around the neck & hind leg area that did not lift during ultrasonic cleaning. Pin mechanism works smoothly. Fascinating Fun Facts: • AIC stands for The Art Institute of Chicago, which produced licensed museum-store jewelry throughout the late 80s–90s. • G&G was the small production studio contracted to manufacture AIC’s metal pins and collectibles. • The piece is cast in zinc alloy with an antiqued gold-tone finish, typical of AIC’s whimsical jewelry lines. • The Cheshire Cat is the grinning, philosophical trickster from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, known for its ability to vanish and leave only its smile behind.
