Two Leather Cased Daguerreotype Photos

First case is of a daguerreotype of 2 men standing and holding their hats. It is 3 3/4 x 3 1/4”. The hinge binding on this one is gone, but the burgundy velvet and gold detailed frame is in excellent condition. Check out the detail in the gold. It has a 2 hook closure and the front leather is very slightly lighter than the black leather back. The second case is larger, 4 5/8” x 3 5/8”. The daguerreotype is of a young girl with long hair with arms crossed in a dress with drop earrings. The velvet and gold frame are in very good condition and the hinge is intact. The front leather is a brown in color, possibly sun faded because the back leather is black. It has a push button closure. An appraiser actually told me that this one is older. Approximate date is 1850.
