This is the latest version of the 80-200mm F2.8 D lens that Nikon makes and is still sold new on Adorama for $1200+ This is the two ring version with separate zoom and focus controls to eliminate lens creep, and to avoid the 'vacuum effect' which the older push/pull version had, which can suck dust inside the lens elements. My lightly used one has a consistent fast F2.8 aperture through the zoom range and is widely considered to be one of the best Nikon lenses ever made for performance and image quality. The lens is an AF-D mount so it supports 3D matrix metering, plus allows manual aperture control on the lens itself; ideal for compatibiltiy for video use and even back to the older autofocus film cameras. The lens utilizes a drive screw auto focusing system so auto focus is supported on better Digital SLRs (the pro line (ie D3, D4, D5), the hundred series (ie D200, D300, D500, D550, D600, D610, D700, D750, D800, D810, D850) and the 7000 series (D7000, D7100, D7200, etc). Manual focus supported on the 3000 and 5000 series cameras. Glass has no blemishes. No fungus inside. Focus is accurate. Aperture is snappy. A few minor scuffs on the barrel.
