In this artwork, Botero portrays a robust woman dressed in a black garment adorned with red accents, including puffed sleeves and a bow in her blonde hair. She is accessorized with a red bead necklace, earrings, and fingerless gloves, exuding a sense of both strength and opulence. Her stance is confident, leaning slightly against what appears to be a piece of furniture, with one hand placed on her hip and the other hanging casually by her side. The background features a minimalistic setting with a mirror reflecting part of her figure, a bottle, and oranges on a nearby table, adding to the domestic atmosphere of the scene. The painting is characterized by Botero’s signature use of exaggerated proportions, lending the figure a monumental presence.
