Description

The vintage USA Guild SFB-2, also known as the Starfire Bass II, is a dual-pickup, semi-hollowbody bass guitar produced from 1967 into the early 1970s. An original "NB" designation refers to the less common Natural Blonde finish. These basses are known for their short-scale neck and versatile tone. Key specifications Body: Semi-hollow construction with a double cutaway. Wood: Arched mahogany top and back with mahogany sides. Center block: The semi-hollow design incorporates a center block to reduce feedback. Finish: A clear, high-gloss lacquer was used for the Natural Blonde (NB) finish. Neck: Material: 3-piece mahogany with a maple center strip. Scale Length: Short-scale, measuring 30.75" (781mm). Fingerboard: Ebony or rosewood, depending on the production date. Inlays: Pearloid dot inlays. Nut Width: 1 1/2" (38mm). Electronics: Pickups: Dual Guild BS-1 BiSonic single-coil pickups. These pickups have a cult following for their rich, vintage tone. Controls: Individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, plus a master volume knob and a 3-way toggle pickup selector switch. Some models from this era also included a mini-toggle tone switch. Hardware: Bridge: Guild adjustable bass bridge, often with ebony or rosewood saddles. Tuners: Vintage-style tuning machines, typically nickel-plated. Additional features: Binding: Cream ABS binding on the body and neck. Weight: An average of 8 to 9 pounds, though this can vary. Thanks for looking let me know if you have any questions
