Vintage 15-Key Shona Mbira (Nyunga Nyunga) – Unique Lo-Fi Acoustic Character

Looking for a completely unique, organic acoustic texture for your next track? This is an authentic, traditional 15-key Nyunga Nyunga mbira (African thumb piano). It features a solid native hardwood soundboard and a lower metal plate with rattling bottle caps designed to create a sympathetic, percussive buzzing drone—providing a built-in acoustic "fuzz" effect that sounds incredible under a microphone. Condition & Character: 100% Playable & Complete: All 15 keys are intact and functional. The Sound: It has a heavy, gorgeous vintage patina and surface rust on the tines. Rather than hurting the instrument, this rust dampens harsh overtones, giving it a warm, earthy, low-frequency "lo-fi" character that digital sample packs or factory-clean kalimbas cannot replicate. Perfect for indie folk, ambient soundscapes, Foley film scoring, or experimental sample-flipping. $50 West Seattle
