1852 Braided Hair Large Cent -- GREAT PRE-CIVIL WAR COIN!

For sale is a great 1852 Braided Hair Large Cent. The Braided Hair Large Cent was minted from 1839 to 1857, and the Large Cent came right before they changed the one cent coin to the smaller version that we are familiar with today. The Large Cent, as the name implies, is much larger than today's cent. Believe it or not it was just a tad smaller than the size of a half dollar, and are made of 100% copper. As you can see from the pics the coin is in really nice condition, and it would come in at a very nice F grade, which is very hard to find these coins in because they were so heavily circulated. The date, lettering, and all images are all sharp and bold. The word LIBERTY on the top of the bust head is nice and bold, which is usually the first to wear down on these old copper coins. Many of the fine hairlines on the bust are sharp as well. Other than a small pock on the bust's chin, the coin has no major blemishes and it hasn't been cleaned.
