This Royal Signet typewriter from the late 1970s types well and should provide hours of writing enjoyment for the child who loves to write in your life. It’s reduced in price because it has a few cracks in the clamshell case which it sustained in shipping. I bought this machine and a few others like it and it types as good as the others which tells you it can tolerate a few bumps. It’s not the prettiest typewriter but it types and that is usually what matters most to kids! The case could be put away or repaired, but the machine doesn’t need a case when it is sitting on a desk anyway. I’ve had several people ask about buying functional typewriters for less than $75 and those are harder to find than they were years ago. So this one will likely go quick.
