Based on the "6D" serial number prefix stamped on the caseback, this exact timepiece was manufactured in December 1966. This specific black dial configuration is famously recognized by vintage watch collectors as the exact reference procured and worn by elite, clandestine US Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) forces during the Vietnam War era. The watch features its classic matte black dial with luminous Arabic numerals, an inner track, a day/date window at 3 o'clock, and the distinct recessed crown at the 4 o'clock position. The stainless steel case retains its early, highly legible "Water Proof" caseback markings and shows honest wear consistent with its age.
